Directed by Mathilda May, the unforgettable protagonist of the Grand Blond avec une chaussure noire [The Tall Blond Man with One Black Shoe] opens the doors to a mute world that sways to and forth between dreams and the absurd.
As his name suggests, Mr. X is an ordinary man, living alone within the four faded walls of a small studio flat high up in an anonymous tower block.
However, this seemingly well-ordered retired life will provide all sorts of eye openers, facetiousness and surprises, as the world of this solitary being is filled with dreams. In a dialogue mixing reality and illusion, the routine of his daily life disintegrates before our eyes.
With a single curtain raise, we share in a series of adventures inspired by Buster Keaton, Charlie Chaplin and Jacques Tati, performed with immense poetry and without a single word, because in the world of Mr. X, silence is golden. Written by Mathilda May specifically for the actor Pierre Richard, this whimsical character takes us on a journey into the absurd. Around him, everything comes to life and with his head in the clouds, he encounters the invisible, the abstract and the infinite. What if solitude was to become the most beautiful refuge?
