For the first time in Lyon, Angélica Liddell presents Una costilla sobre la mesa: Madre (A rib on the table: Mother). A punch show in which the great Spanish artist displays all her exuberance.
A singular artist if ever there was one, Angelica Liddell took full possession of the scene to weave dazzling links between her personal suffering and the fury of the world. Physical, poetic, visceral, the theater of the famous author, director and performer goes beyond the simple narrative to create vital and liberating discharges. It rises as an art of compassion and sharing of pain. A powerfully evocative art that gives body to unvarnished introspects highlighting the complexities of the human. With startling fervor and frenzy, Una costilla sobre la mesa: Madre proclaims the love and grief of a daughter over the disappearance of her mother. By drawing on the ancestral rites of the land of its origins: Extremadura. Outbreak of mourning, examination of guilt, necessity of atonement: this heartbreaking celebration brings together conscious and unconscious in the magma of madness. Accompanied by the star of a non-traditional flamenco, singer Niño de Elche, and Japanese dancer Ichiro Sugae, Angélica Liddell transforms the theatrical act into a gesture of survival.
