When will we be ready to shift our borders?
Jointly written by Eugen Jebeleanu and Yann Verburgh,
Itinéraires, un jour le monde changera [Routes, one day the world will change] brings together Romanian and French actors to paint a sensitive picture of what makes us different and what makes us who we are.

The play starts with the tale of a family of penguins leaving the Ice Country for the Other Country, with the promise of a better future. A mosaic of destinies emerges from this initial journey, stories drawn from the lives of the artists, switching back and forth between different languages, different generations and different countries. “This play is an act of resistance against the latent prejudices and discriminations arising between the populations of Europe,” explains Eugen Jebeleanu, a rising talent from the Romanian theatre scene.
“I see it as fundamental artistic expression and a crucial platform for promoting diversity in art.”
In Itinéraires, un jour le monde changera, this diversity is expressed through combining theatrical codes and use of five different languages. Interweaving tales and testimonies, notions of otherness and identity, this empathy traverses both our personal borders and the frontiers that shape 21st century Europe.
