Julie Gayet, Patrick Catalifo, Christiane Cohendy, Lolita Chammah et Renan Prévot
This was a great success for us last season. A creation rich in subtlety and feeling for which Claudia Stavisky has put together a truly brilliant cast: Julie Gayet, Patrick Catalifo, Lolita Chammah, Christiane Cohendy and Renan Prévot.
How can parents recover from the loss of a child? This is the question that Rabbit Hole asks, a play which won American author David Lindsay-Abaire the prestigious Pulitzer Prize in 2007. It would be easy to slip into pathos, but this story is far from sentimental: it immerses us in the daily life of a family trying to rebuild itself. A daily life which is poignant, realistic, and often funny, which transcends the ordinary to resonate deep within the heart of what it is to be human. Putting the tragedy behind them, the will to live allows them to look forward to better days. People learn to smile again. Life reasserts itself. This is the very stuff of existence, unfolding before our very eyes in all its strength and clarity. Eight months after a traumatic experience, Becky and her husband Howard gradually find pleasure in life once more. This is Rabbit Hole, a story which radiates a dual resilience.
