This is the story of last remaining fragments of the life of Louis which takes place in the presence of those who are now reaching the very end of their own lives and approaching the temporal meeting point between life and death. The characters only reveal their thoughts in a partial manner due to their difficulty in expressing themselves and the memory loss that results in uncertainty. This family of blood and heart are all present, indistinct as people but nevertheless united around Louis, who confesses his nearness to death using soft tones and modesty. But can he free himself at a time which sees him battling the demons of a mysterious past? Clément Hervieu-Léger, a member of the Comèdie-Française, offers a touching performance that effortlessly sublimates the nostalgic languidness and tender regrets contained within The Faraway Country, the most recent play from emblematic author Jean-Luc Lagarce.
